General account book/ledger of Robert Thornhill Including lead mines (Hard Nill and Water Hole, Hassop), household, farming, rents, wages and taxation. Conservation work was carried out on this volume in 2015 as a result of a project funded by National Manuscripts Conservation Trust. During this work, fragments of metallic appearance were found inside the volume; analysis by the British Geological Survey later confirmed that they were lead ore, of a variety commonly found in the area.
