High Peak Petty Sessional Division and predecessors Records of High Peak Petty Sessional Division and its predecessors including High Peak (later Chapel en le Frith) and Buxton Petty Sessional Divisions and Glossop Borough Court 1834-1979. Originally the High Peak Division included both Buxton and Glossop, but Glossop became a Borough with its own court in 1866 (and may already have separated out from the High Peak Division) and Buxton became the head of a separate Petty Sessional division in 1880. Buxton and Chapel en le Frith Divisions combined to form a Division coterminous with the High Peak District Council area (but excluding Glossop) in 1974.
