Further information: Case goes back to 1950.  Whilst walking to the pit bottom he slipped and fractured right leg. Medical Appeal Tribunal 12 January 1954 awarded 8 per cent disablement loss of faculty for life. Local Appeal Tribunal adjourned; 'No attendance or communication from claimant' written on Tribunal sheet. By this time claimant had returned to his work as a ripper, having had light work as a Salvage Man in the meantime.</dc:description>
