Further information: Accident April 1952 when crushed by a fall of stone. In July 1953 claimant was given Medical Board assessment of 10 per cent for life. Initial Appeal Tribunal 24/06/1954 was adjourned for medical evidence, which concluded 'I think this man suffered sever injury in April 1952 from which he will be permanently incapacitated..... I do not think he will ever be fit to resume his pre-accident work at the coal face'. Letter of thanks to Mr Kitts from claimant 16/04/1954 includes: ' I wish to thank you for the able way in which you have dealt with my case'</dc:description>
