Parkin for the NUM referred to a previous Commissioner's decision where a strain had been so severe it had precipitated infarction and medical opinion from a Derby specialist said 'I think that Mr. Hissit suffered from an underlying constitutional tendency towards coronary thrombosis, but that the physical strain referred to was sufficient to precipitate the actual attack'.
