Description
John Savage of Castleton, gentleman, to Humfry Savage, one of his sons and heir apparent. Lease dated 18th April, 1534, made by Thomas, then Abbot of the dissolved monastery of Rufford (co. Notts) and convent, to Humfry Stafford, late of Eyam, gentleman, of a farm called Abney Graunge in Hope parish; at a rent of twenty six shillings to George, Earl of Shrewsbury, and four pounds to John Savage; Humfry also takes over John Savage's bond in £80 to make leases to Thomas Wilcockson and Humfry Wilson, of the moieties of the property now in their occupations.
