Description
Marmaducke Constable of Wassende (co. York), esquire, one of the cousins and heirs of Bryan Rowclyff, sometime of Cowthropp (co. York), esquire, deceased, son and heir of Sir John Rowcliff, knight, and Dame Margaret, his wife [with further particulars concerning the relationship], to ffrancis Clifford. All estate, right and title to the manors of Edensoure, Pyllesley, Wormehill, Queston alias Whetston, Tyddeswall, fflagge, Martynsyde, Comes, Lockey, Twyford, Moxedale, Turnedicke, Barishashe and Rowlesley in co. Derby, with all appurtenances; for £50.
The deed explains at length the claims of the Clifford family and others from Rowcliffe, lists the manors in cos. York, Derby and Nottingham belonging to Bryan Rowcliffe, and quotes various conveyances and arbitrations made in connection with the marriage of Sir Ingram Clifford and Anne Rowcliffe, and between the heirs of the said Bryan.
