Copyright | Out of copyright. |
The Roll of Honour as a literary work cannot be subject to copyright because it contains nothing other than facts, there is nothing creative there. As a work of art, it would be subject to a copyright of 70 years after the death of the author, which must be the "A. Roberts" of Otter Street, Derby, mentioned on the corner. Using a combination of Kelly's Directories, the 1911 census and the index of deaths, I have established that this was one Albert Roberts, printer, who lived from around 1870 to 1927. This means the work must be out of copyright. Mark Smith 24/7/2013 |
