Administrative HistoryBuxton Deanery Synod first met in July 1970 as successor to Buxton Ruridecanal Conference. The Synod is the main church discussion forum involving clergy and elected laity representatives. Each diocese is divided into deaneries, which are collections of parishes for administrative purposes.
