Administrative HistoryGoyts Clough Quarry was worked for Thomas and Matthew Pickford, trading as T and M Pickford & Co, in the early nineteenth century. It is mentioned in John Farey's View of the agriculture and minerals of Derbyshire (1811) as providing slate or tile stone and paviers (or flagstones).
