Derby School: Officer Training Corps
Administrative History
As was the case with many public and long-established grammar schools, Derby School had a Cadet Corps, or Officer Training Corps. The Derby School OTC was attached to No. 1 Voluntary Battalion of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (Sherwood Foresters) Regiment. As part of training, cadets attended military camps for a week or so. Both camps for the years 1912-1913 were situated at Bordon in Hamphire.
Custodial History
The photographs used to belong to Allan Forsyth, one of the cadets attending the camps. They were given to the Derbyshire Record Office in September 2003 by his daughter.
