Administrative History | Pre-registration title deeds to properties in southern Derbyshire, including a series of inter-related medieval title deeds to messuages and land in Stapenhill owned by the Tapperto family. There would appear to be some connection between the Tapperto and Dodsworth families and the 19th century Wheeldon and Radford families of Derby, which might explain the presence of the medieval deeds in this solicitors' collection. The pre-registration title deeds to properties in Brailsford, Chellaston and Mickleover, however, which are predominantly 18th and 19th century in date, would seem to stand alone and may have been deposited with the firm by other clients. |
Custodial History | These deeds and papers were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office by a firm of solicitors in September 2001. It is assumed that they were transferred to the solicitors by one or more of their clients. |
